"Everyone Sells This" Is a Warning, Not a Green Light

“This product sells, everyone’s selling it” sounds like a guarantee. It’s usually the sign of a market already turning into a price war. When several sellers in the same city, neighborhood, or niche carry the identical product, sourced from the same local factories, the person who actually makes consistent money is the manufacturer. Resellers end up fighting over pennies of margin per unit, needing a large volume just to make that margin worth the effort.

Products with a layer of customization, specific measurements, or a manufacturing process that isn’t trivial keep away part of that same competition, because not everyone wants to deal with a size chart, exchanges for the wrong fit, or made-to-order production logistics. That complexity, which looks like a disadvantage at first glance, works as a natural barrier against competitors who’d rather take the easier path.

The question worth asking before choosing a product isn’t whether it sells. It’s how many people, within reach of the same market, are already doing exactly this. A lot of people doing it points toward saturation already underway. Few or none is worth investigating, because sometimes the reason nobody’s there yet is a lack of technical knowledge, not a lack of demand. When a process looks too hard to learn, it’s often worth checking how other markets around the world have already solved that exact challenge, even if that means researching in another language or learning from someone who already manufactures that type of product elsewhere.

There’s no such thing as a miracle product. There is such a thing as a poorly chosen niche, and the gap between selling little against heavy competition and selling at a healthy margin often comes down to the willingness to learn something most people avoid because it looks complicated.

Flow Border supports stores in exactly these harder, higher-margin niches, wherever the operation gets more technical.
